Welcome

Whether you’re completely new to church, or just new to Park Church, we’d like to extend a warm welcome to you. Our main meeting together happens on Sunday mornings, but there is a lot more to church life that happens throughout the week. Find out more ...

We’d love to meet you in person, so please do visit us on a Sunday. Click on the link for a map on How To Find Us  and parking arrangements.

What To Expect at a Sunday Service

We recognise that attending a new church for the first time can be an intimidating process. To help you feel welcome and at home with us on your first visit to Park Church, here is a sort of Visitors Guide on what to expect when you arrive on Sunday morning.

What about timings?
The service starts at 10:30am and finishes at around 11.45am.

What do I wear?
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in: casual, smart, smart-casual it doesn't matter - we love diversity - be yourself!

Is there wheelchair access?
Yes! We have parking spaces available right outside the church for those who may have a mobility problem. The entrance has ramp access and once in the building everything is on the same level. We also have a fully wheelchair-accessible disabled toilet.

Before the Service

You will be welcomed at the front doors and the welcomers are happy to answer any questions you may have, such as: where do I sit and where are the toilets? Door stewards will give you the week's notice sheet to take away and any other material you may need for the service.

During the Service

We like to make the atmosphere in our services informal but not casual.  Services are generally conducted by a designated Service Leader. There is a mixture of singing hymns and contemporary worship songs, prayers, readings from the Bible and a sermon or talk, and there is often drama, sketches, music or other creative elements. Our worship is easy to follow and everything is projected onto a big screen. Singing is accompanied by the Music Group. There is a collection to help support the work of the church and community centre.

Microphones are used to help audibility and for those who are hard of hearing there is an induction loop system.

Children are very welcome to either stay in the service with whoever brought them or go to the Activity Corner at the side of the church where there are toys and resources for their own fun, activities and learning.

On the first and third Sundays in the month the service includes a Communion. We accept the bread and non-alcoholic wine as symbols of God's love for everyone. Hence everyone is invited to participate. The Service Leader generally leads the communion and stewards share the bread and wine with the congregation by passing them from person to person.

After The Service

After the service we relax together with a tea, coffee or soft drink, and biscuits. This is a good opportunity to get to know people. You are welcome to stay behind for as long as there is someone there to talk to!

If after the service you feel you would like to come again, we will be delighted to see you.
If you would like to speak to one of the Leadership or anyone else at the church, just let one of our duty stewards know.
On the other hand, if your visit is a one-off, we hope you have some happy memories of your time with us at Park Church.
