An Invitation
On the weekend of 31st August, Park Church is celebrating its 80th Anniversary (the symbol for which happens to be OAK). That's right, it is 80 years since a group of people built a small church at 258 Lower Farnham Road in Aldershot and officially opened it on 3rd September 1939, a date of historical significance as it was also the date World War II was declared!
Over the years, many people have been associated with the Church. Although those original founders have now passed on, many of us who followed are still alive and kicking. There is an invitation to everyone who can to join us for a reunion and to celebrate 80 years of God's blessing at Park Church.
Anniversary Exibition
Over the anniversary weekend we are mounting an exhibition in the main church building in Church Lane East. It will comprise displays of many of the events that have taken place over the 80 years together with displays of all the current activities going on in the church on a regular basis.
Saturday 31st August 2019
The church building will be open for everyone, including local residents to come in and browse the exibition to see what Park Church is all about and maybe recognise a few old faces in the photo displays.
From 6.30 pm until about 9pm we will be having a reunion of anyone and everyone having connections with us over the years. There will be drinks and a buffet supper while we are reminiscing and catching up with friends old and new.
Sunday 1st September 2019
Please note, there will be no morning service on this day; instead at 3pm there will be a special service of celebration, a time to give thanks to God for 80 years of blessing.
Our guest speaker will be David Sullivan, who has had a long association with Park Church.
We will follow the service with an English Tea of sandwiches and cakes.
If you wish to let us know you’re coming, or for more information, please email info@parkchurchaldershot.org.uk, or phone 01252 327235.
